Marsa Matrouh is the seaport and capital of the Matrouh governorate it is located at 240 kilometers from Alexandria. The city gained its importance during Roman times when it was used as a harbor for trade with Rome. However, Marsa Matrouh is most famous for its beautiful beaches like Aguiba, El Obayed, Cleopatra and of course the bay of Marsa Matrouh.
